Oil & Gas Investor Article January 2007Tom Morrow, the founder of the company, started Access Exploration Corp.’s existing business model in 1993 while working for Challenger Minerals, Inc. He and the team at Access have evolved this model by expanding its geographical area to include the onshore arena under the Access Exploration Corp. brand. Access is screening on average 200+ prospects per year equating to 4 prospects per week, recommending 1 a week to our Program Participants and closing on about 50% of the prospects we recommend. This is a constantly growing number as Access Exploration Corp. is in its growth mode. Bobby Long and Jason Sebastinas Although Access makes the preliminary offer to the prospect generator, the contracts are signed directly by the investors taking the equity interests. Access Exploration is unique in that most prospect screeners/evaluators/procurers reserve a back-in interest, an overriding royalty interest or some kind of carried interest. Access charges only a yearly fee that remains constant no matter how active a program participant - a knowledgeable oil and gas company seeking working interests in drilling prospects - may be. Typical agency issues are avoided in the Access business model in that it has no reason for Access to make a prospect look better or worse. Access acts as a sophisticated intermediary in a knowledgeable market place, bringing together participants to make a single offer in order to simplify and accelerate the process for the prospect generators.
